Farmers’ Market Manager- Full Time
About You

Training
- We will train you how to drive the van that has a trailer hitched to it.
- Develop knowledge of our products in poultry and meats
- Learn about sustainable, small farm practices
- Become an expert in merchandise warehousing, sustainability, sales, and vendor marketing.
Schedule
- Summertime is our busiest time, approximately 50 hour/week (May-October). Workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. Your days off are Monday and Friday.
- In the off season, (November – April), the Farmers’ Market Manager will be working approximately 30 hours/week. Your work days are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
What it is like to work at a Farmers’ Market
- Indoor and outdoor farmers’ markets
- Weather conditions can range from hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions
- Noise level varies from moderate to loud
A Week in the Life of a Being a Finn’s Ranch Farmers’ Market Manager
- Attending farmers’ markets between locations in the Chicagoland area. Pilsen is where our warehouse is located. Finn’s Ranch participates in farmers’ marketed located in: Lincoln Park, downtown Chicago, the northside of Chicago, and the suburbs of Riverside, Glenview, Rogers Park Beverly, and Oak Park.
- Takes inventory of items to load for booth set up and transportation required to get equipment and inventory to the farmers’ market site.
- Loads and unloads equipment, tools and inventory to set up the FINN’S RANCH sales booth.
- Manage sales at the farmers’ markets
- Effectively manage electronic and cash sales keeping a sales report for each daily shift completed.
- Order and maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
- Package orders in our warehouse in Pilsen
- Deliver orders in Chicagoland area
Qualifications
- Have the ability to regularly lift 50 pounds
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Sales, hospitality, or customer service experience

Farmers Market Staff Part Time positions open – SUMMER 2023
Responsibilities
The Farmers’ Market Staff will be based in Chicago, IL and report to Alex Finn, owner of Finn’s Ranch. The Farmers’ Market Staff will be responsible for:
- Attending farmers’ markets
- Takes inventory of items to load for booth set up and transportation required to get equipment and inventory to the Farmers Market site.
- Loads and unloads equipment, tools and inventory to set up the FINN’S RANCH sales booth.
- Manage sales at the farmers’ markets
- Effectively manage electronic and cash sales keeping a sales report for each daily shift completed.
- Order and maintain appropriate inventory of supplies.
- Package orders in our warehouse
- Deliver orders
Applicant profile
A successful applicant will:
- Have high energy and a friendly demeanor.
- Have the ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
- Have a valid driver’s license
- For Some Markets will be expected to drive a van with a trailer (training will be provided)
- Experience in customer relations and retail sales preferred.
Work Environment
The Farmers’ Market Manager will be working both outside at our markets and in our warehouse. This position is frequently exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions. They will also be expected to maneuver products in our freezers. Noise level in the work environment may be moderate to loud.
Schedule
During the summer, the Farmers’ Market Staff will be working approximately 7 to 8 hours per market (May-October).
Compensation
This position offers $18/hr. Payment at the end of the shift
